Introduction
Zimeleni Funerals is an undertaker that does burials in South Africa and surrounding countries. It was established in the year 2008 and officially registered in the year 2013. It was situated in Orlando west, Soweto South Africa. We have currently opened 2 other offices 1 in Central Western Jabavu, Soweto and another 1 in Lufhereng, Soweto.
Zimeleni Funerals has volunteered in helping the community by assisting the needy with burying their loved ones for free. We volunteered for CHAMPS an organisation that is funded by Bill Gates to bury children from disadvantaged families, ranging from stillborn to the age of 5.
We have also done burials for the South African government on behalf of Johannesburg City parks; we did burials for paupers where by a body had no family in and around South Africa including foreigners. Such bodies are buried 3 in each grave.
We have also done indigent burials, which are where by the family have no funds for the burial. This is only done for South African residents.
Mission
Due to the poverty and unemployment rate in our country, we have witnessed and felt the pain of families not being able to bury their loved ones in dignity. Families have come to us for assistance because they cannot even afford the basics of a funeral such as the coffin, hearse , family car, tent, chairs as well as a toilet.
We have tried by our best ability to assist the families and we have put together a great and dedicated team which volunteers in assisting the families. They have dedicated their lives and time in helping the community.
Zimeleni Funerals has strategized a programme as a give back to the community. Our programme helps with assisting families who have no funds to bury their loved ones in dignity. We have been working hand in hand with a company called CHAMPS which only assists in burying still born and children up to the age of 5 years.
Vision
Our wish as Zimeleni Funerals is to expand our programme and be able to help everyone regardless of age or nationality. Our programme will cover the basics of a dignified funeral, which will be coffin, hearse, family car, toilet, tent, 40 chairs, 2 tables. Our main struggle as a small company is the funds to cover such expenses.
